National Education Policy 2020

Transforming India's education system to meet the needs of the 21st century. Committed to transparent self-disclosure by Higher Education Institutions as per NEP 2020 principles.

About NEP 2020

The National Education Policy 2020 - A comprehensive framework for education

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a comprehensive framework for the transformation of the Indian education system. It was approved by the Union Cabinet on 29 July 2020 and is the first education policy of the 21st century in India.

The NEP 2020 aims to transform India's education system by 2040, making it more equitable, inclusive, and accessible to all. It emphasizes the development of critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning among students.

One of the fundamental principles of NEP 2020 is transparent self-disclosure by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The policy envisions that HEIs shall be responsible and accountable to stakeholders through transparent disclosure of all relevant records. The availability of information in the public domain is an important source of accountability.

UGC Guidelines on Public Self-Disclosure 2024

As per UGC D.O. No. F.14-4/2023 (CPP-II)(C.No.131173) dated 10th June 2024

Important Directive

The University Grants Commission (UGC), in its 580th meeting held on 15 May 2024, approved the Guidelines on Public Self-Disclosure by Higher Education Institutions, 2024. All HEIs are required to comply with these guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent system.

"The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes transparent self-disclosure by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Public self-disclosure by HEIs, in fact, is one of the fundamental principles of the NEP. The NEP contemplates that HEIs shall be responsible and accountable to the stakeholders through transparent self-disclosure of all relevant records."
