How to File an RTI
Step-by-step process for filing an RTI application
Draft Your RTI Application
Write a clear application addressed to the PIO stating the specific information you seek. Include your name, contact details, and period (if applicable).
Pay the Application Fee
Pay ₹10 as application fee via IPO, demand draft, or cash at the college cash counter. BPL applicants are exempt from fees.
Submit the Application
Submit via post, in person, or online through this portal. Keep a copy of your application and receipt.
Acknowledgment (Within 5 Days)
The PIO will acknowledge your application within 5 working days and may seek clarification if needed.
Response (Within 30 Days)
The PIO will provide the requested information within 30 days of receiving the application.
First Appeal (If Unsatisfied)
If not satisfied with the response, you can file a First Appeal within 30 days with the First Appellate Authority.
Second Appeal to CIC/SIC
If still unsatisfied, you can file a Second Appeal with the State Information Commission (SIC) within 90 days.

Fee Exemption for BPL Applicants
As per Section 7(5) of the RTI Act, 2005, no fee is charged from applicants who are Below the Poverty Line (BPL). To avail this exemption, please attach a copy of your valid BPL card with the application.
